Infirmary

A new infirmary was set up in order to provide medical care, first aid, and support for students who become ill or injured during school hours. This ensures that students receive prompt medical attention if they fall ill or sustain minor injuries during school hours. The infirmary is equipped with basic medical supplies and equipment necessary for administering first aid such as bandages, antiseptics, ice packs, and other essential items to address minor injuries or medical emergencies. Some students may have chronic health conditions that require ongoing monitoring or medication administration during school hours. The infirmary provides a safe and private space for managing these conditions and ensuring students’ health needs are met. The infirmary provides a designated area for medication administration for students who require prescription medications during school hours. This helps ensure proper dosages are given at the appropriate time under the supervision of a registered nurse. Ms. Asha Alex, a trained registered nurse appointed by the school, often conducts health screenings and assessments in order to monitor the overall health and well-being of the students.

The screening done includes vision and hearing tests, height and weight measurements, and other health assessments to identify any potential issues that may require further attention. The infirmary serves as a hub for health education and promotion within the school community. The nurse educates students on hygiene, nutrition, mental health, and disease prevention to promote healthy behaviour among students.

The infirmary includes the following facilities:

To conclude, the infirmary plays a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students within the school environment, ensuring they have access to appropriate medical care and support when needed.
