
‘Open a Book and You Open Your Mind’
Our School library carries the name ‘NALANDA’ named after the famous University which provided literacy to people. Our Founder Sir Robert Stanes had taken great effort to provide literacy to people in Coimbatore, thus our Library has its name.
Our Library is a hub and interface with organized system for accessing and managing books. It is a Student-Centered facility designed to play a key role in the intellectual, educational and cultural life of the school.
Nalanda has been renovated, modernized, updated, refurnished, refurbished to cater to the needs of the students and teachers to enable them have a calm and comfortable environment for reading.
The Library is spacious with around 2000 reference books and around 12,000 books that cover topics like Art, Biographies, Psychology, Classics, Subject related books and a lot of Genre.
Periodicals and Dailies help children to update information and current affairs. Various reading programmes are introduced to the students to practice the habit of reading.

Renovated Nalanda Library
The 16th of February, 2022, was a Landmark day in the History of Stanes Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore.
On this auspicious day, the renovated Nalanda Library and the new Nalanda Seminar Hall were both inaugurated at 9.30 AM. Members of the Governing Board, Principals, AHMs and Teachers of Stanes Institutions graced the occasion with their presence, making this function important and well attended.
The Honorary Secretary of the Governing Board, Mr. W.R. Gardner, unveiled the Plaque in the Library and Dr. Sucheeta Ramachandran, Honorary Treasurer of the Governing Board, inaugurated the Nalanda Seminar Hall. New books were purchased and the shelves updated with new editions.
The librarian Mrs. Sweetline Sornalatha, thanked the gathering.
As part of the infrastructure development, the Management has approved and implemented the state-of-the-art Language Lab, especially for the use of Communicative English students, to provide specific emphasis on Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills, which are crucial for the advancement of their career.
The lab has high tech, latest computers with multimedia kits and advanced software to provide audio visual learning aids to the pupils.
The vision and mission of the Founder, Sir Robert Stanes stands fulfilled down the years especially during the School’s Post Centennial Diamond Jubilee Year Celebrations to the student community.
Books were donated by the board members to the Nalanda library. Sir Philip R.J. Fowler has also donated a collection of magazines about defence, military, car, hobbies like travel, photography etc., which the children really enjoy to the core.
